Americans can cook

After a week of midterms and attempts at launching a socialist revolution at our school, I think most people agreed that we all deserved a real treat. On Eric’s (flatmate) initiative we therefore invited people over to cook for us (this is a rather describing picture of the nature of the inhabitants of this apartment – not inviting people for dinner unless the guests cook themselves). My first plans for Friday night were actually to sit on my porch and drink myself under the table, and invited random people to sit around and watch for their own amusement, but somehow the dinner plans overtrumped that.
So, we ended up having around ten people over. The girls (Nikki, Sana, and Sania) with help from Raul and Peter, shopped the groceries and cooked in the kitchen for about an hour or so, while Jeff fired up a terrific shisha for the all the guys sitting on the porch drinking (Back to the 50s!) The food was awesome, I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.
We eventually ended up sitting on the porch drinking, leaving me with the opportunity to realize my original goal for the evening, predicting earth-quakes in the presence of others. The drinking never really took off though, except for in the case of Eric, who totally embarrassed himself as usual. I ended up passing out in a chair on the porch in the early hours of the morning, and woke up there alone around 7 am.

What a perfect way of ending the week!

(In English, as a thank you to the magnificent chefs of the evening)
